Ed Brown 1911 trigger SS set
I purchased three Ed Brown stainless steel 1911 hammer / sear sets when they were on sale for less than 1/2 the regular price. Beautiful hammers and the sears are machined very nice. All the sear requires is a little honing to set the angle and then break the corner. I'm looking forward to swapping out all three of my 1911 hammer / sear groups this fall / winter. Many thousands of rounds on my pistols. Time to swap out springs, pins and hammer / sear. Ed Brown makes very nice replacement parts for 1911's. Sear requires the use of a sear angle fixture - guide & appropriate honing stones. On sale for less than 1/2 price - no brainer. Highly recommend.
Amazing Value for a "Trigger in a box"
Picked up this set to replace some MIM parts in an SA, dropped off at the GS and a week later had a dream trigger. GS mentioned he only had to do some minor profiling to tweak the sear, the majority of the work is done by EB before it leaves the factory. Produced a 3.5# with stock weight springs on a SA LWOP. Very little take up, clean, crisp break, no OT... a pleasure to shoot.
Blown away!
Ordered this set to avoid having to do a complete trigger job this time. When it came I was pleasantly surprised at the finish and quality of the parts. The hammer is very nicely chamfered and took only a very small amount to get the chamfer to really shine. Next I polished the hammer face, sear points and sides, hammer pivot sides, and disconnector contact points. It was actually difficult even with power tools to polish the hammer face, that tells you how hard it is. Mocked it up on the outside of the frame and was amazed at the cut on the sear, it already has a perfect cut and escape. Decided to put it all together and see how it went. After trimming just a tad off of my thumb safety it all clicked into place and provided a near perfect trigger pull. This is absolutely as close to drop in as you can find and I highly recommend it to anyone!! This is just another example of why I am an Ed Brown die hard fan!
Poor machining
Sear not true, hammer chamfers rough and uneven. Product may be hit or miss, unfortunately my luck at this blackjack table is a bust.
Very disappointing
Pin holes in sear and hammer were not square with working surfaces.
