Rugged, fixed rear sight features a precision machined Novak dovetail for easy replacement of a fragile adjustable sight to make your gun more suitable for duty or carry. Extra-wide, .135" notch provides more light around the front blade to open up the sight picture for fast target acquisition. 50 lpi serrations on the rear face help eliminate glare. Allen head setscrew locks sight into slide dovetail for a rock-solid installation that won’t shoot loose. Regulates with most factory installed front sights. Machined from solid steel bar stock with radiused edges that help prevent holster snag. Minor fitting may be required. Does not fit Kimber, Para-Ordnance, or Smith & Wesson SW1911.

SPECS - 1" (2.5cm) long, .690" (1.7cm) wide, .325" (8.3mm) high rear blade. Notch - .135" (3.3mm) wide x .125" (3.17mm) deep. Fits Novak .495" x 65° dovetail cut. Does not fit Kimber, Para-Ordnance, or Smith & Wesson SW1911.

Best 1911 sight on the market

I've used this sight on several of my 1911 builds. I used to use the U notch 10-8 but this sight provides a much better sight picture. The rear notch is wide,but not so wide it hinders your ability to make a precise shot. With a bright front sight, the combination can't be beat for both speed and accuracy.

Excellent, solid rear sight.

The HD004 has more than enough meat to blend for a custom look. Most sights on the market are thin just forward of the sight notch, the HD004 is almost full thickness al the way to the ledge. The machine work and finish are first class. The sight fits the Novak low mount sight dovetail with minimal fitting.

Almost perfect..........

I had looked high and low for a replacement rear sight for my long slide 1911. It had a Novak cut and it seemed that no one made retro-fit sights to fill a Novak cut...until now. I ordered the standard plain black to be used in conjunction with a fiber optic front. Fit was tight and precise, length to rear of slight was exactly right. Why almost perfect? If it was adjustable and fit this cut....PERFECT.
