MACHINED AMBIDEXTROUS CARRY THUMB SAFETY FOR 1911 Reviews & Ratings

MACHINED AMBIDEXTROUS CARRY THUMB SAFETY FOR 1911

The Ed Brown Ambidextrous Machined Carry Thumb Safety provides a slim pad for use in concealed carry applications. This is the same as the Wide Ambidextrous Safety but with the levers trimmed to a 1/8" slender profile for better carry and concealment. This version is fully machined from stock for unbeatable quality and no chance of warping or porosity. This design uses a special hammer pin (included) to hold the safety securely, eliminating the need to modify the grips.

Designed for all 1911 type frames and made from high quality steel. Available in blued or stainless steel. Requires minor gunsmith fitting for safe operation and includes complete instructions.

Too thin where the plunger sits.
This safety seems sturdy enough, and wasn't too difficult to install, it seems like the metal is not thick enough where the plunger engages the safety when it is up in the "on" position. The detent is only touching the very edge of the safety-and yes the safety is perfectly flush with the frame. The first picture is of the plunger and the second image is of the safety looking from the bottom to show it is indeed flush with the frame.
