1911 Tool

This makes fitting barrel lugs on a 1911 so much easier and precise. Sure you can do the same job without this tool, but why when this is available.

Must have for 1911 barrel installation

Instructions are easy to follow. Must have for even drop in barrels. Brownells has online videos how to use this tool.

Works

Used to install 2 barrels and havent had an issue, never needed the handle though. Cutter cuts clean, turn the cutter clockwise with handle on the left of gun, never go the counter clockwise, it will damage the cutter and lugs. My gun has .201 slide stop hole and It fits loosely but leaves a lot of material for final hand fit and polish.

Works SPLENDIDLY!

I used this kit to fit a "drop-in" match barrel that wasn't quite so drop-in. When used with care and per the instructions, this kit provides a very tight barrel-to-slide lock-up that pleasingly "snicks" into battery during that last little bit of forward slide movement. I used the .186 cutter and polished by hand for the perfect fit. Enables the hobbyist gunsmith to fit a barrel just like a pro. You'll likely need a longer barrel link for best results, so I also recommend buying a packaged set of links containing various lengths. Rather than using the furnished slide pusher, I just applied steady pressure with my thumb on the back of the slide until it aligned perfectly with the back of the frame. A very slick tool.

The kit's been out of stock 4 too long!

I really wanted the entire kit, but it has been out of stock for far too long. I had to buy the components for the kit individually, but the convenient case made to keep it in was not found. Other than that, I am satisfied with these tools in general.

does what it should ,haven' t used the slide pusher. Have not used the guide, rod every slide I worked with of late was cut for a reverse plug
