Pot metal casting
Found this part to be cast steel with rough finish when polishing. Surface was pitted and had to hand finish starting with 220 grit to smooth. Hot bluing with completed 1911 using oxynate 7, this part did not take on same color (uneven dark purple) as the rest of the parts. Will to trash this part and replace it.
