Single Safety C&S
Super Product
Easy install
Bought two for Colt series 80 45 acp and Colt series 80 38 super. This does require fitting and you can ruin the part by taking off too much metal. However, with that said, I researched several YouTube videos and using a table vice and small files made it fit in about a half an hour total time. If you have the patience this works great. You need to go slow and keep trying your fit after very few file strokes. Overall, very satisfying product and final result.
Great value
Simple to fit, nice snappy detent.
Perfect match for my 2015 Taurus PT1911
I bought this safety to replace the ugly ambidextrous safety on my blued PT1911 9mm pistol. The original safety had a shiny finish and the thumb tabs were wider than I liked. This safety has a matte black finish that matches the frame exactly and the thumb tab is narrower (0.208" original vs. 0.157" for this safety). This was my first time installing a thumb safety on a 1911, so I watched some online videos beforehand which was very helpful. Doing this myself I now know more about how a 1911 works and goes together. The pivot pin fit the frame without any modification. The sear block needed to be filed per the instructions, which was not difficult. Just go slow and keep checking the fit. I'm really happy with the fit, finish and function of this part, and I think it's a great value for the price.
Great Tactical Thumb Safety
This safety is great it was very easily fitted to my Springfield Armory Mil-Spec that I am turning into a MEU SOC type pistol. The unit was nicely finished with a black/gray parkerized type finish. I was able to fit the unit and it only took about 45 mins since I was using jewlers files and not a dremel. I am very pleased with this unit.
Good quality, easy install
Installed this safety in a NM frame Springfield Mil Spec I picked up in 2015. Fitment was really easy. Took about 45 minutes, using a small file and a fine stone. The safety works great and it is aesthetically pleasing and very comfortable when using thumb over grip. It is not too wide, so it would be a good pick for a carry piece. The finish matches the factory parkerizing perfectly. My only complaint is that a tiny amount of the opening in the frame for the safety is visible when the safety is engaged. The opening was not visible with the stock safety when it was engaged. Other than that one small issue, the safety is perfect for me in every other way. I would have rated it 5 stars if it wasn't for the gap when engaged.
Solid Product
Installed on my SW1911. Required fitting but has been an incredible safety. Reliable, doesn't snag on holster or clothes.
C&S 1911 HIGH GRIP AMBI THUMB SAFETY
Extremely well made and, a tight non or minimal tilt fit in grip safety. Plenty of room for a tight fit to the sear and almost identical shape and pad size and angle to the Ed Brown equivalent. Only 4 stars due to the exterior finish of the steel which is great if you want a mat finish but a bit more work if you want anything else. A little rougher then bead blasting so polishing is in order even for a matt hard chrome so I will stick with Ed Browns Ambi Tactical Safety, just a personal preference.
Great safety but requires time...
This safety is just what I needed to finish off my Springfield Armory Stainless 1911-A1 conversion. The piece is well built, but it is just a plain casting. If you want it to shine then you will spend a lot of time sanding and polishing even with a Dremel. The safety fits perfect after filed down to specs and the extension gives you the extra leverage required to engage and release the safety with a clean snap. Please don't try this yourself if you are not an experienced gunsmith. This IS NOT a drop in safety for any model.
Excellent Safety
I ordered this ambi-safety because I'm a lefty. It took 30 minutes to install with some very minor fitting where the safety meets the sear. Very snappy and solid safety.
