Great out of the box option.
If you even think your going to add a sight to a 1911 and go through the hassel of finding someone to mill the slide. Just get this. The slide fit strait onto the frame. I am going to deffinetly buy more of these for future builds and upgrades to have at the ready.

Ed Brown 1911 slide Xact fit barrel
I purchased the Ed Brown slide and other parts to complete a slide stop and up build. Fitting to Taurus 1911 frame went well. 400 plus rounds and not a problem. The pistol is very very accurate , I believe good enough for bulleye shooting. If shows reliability after 1000 rounds or so , may use it in precision pistol competition.

PERFECT!! Just what I needed to add red dot optic capability to my Colt 1911 Gold Cup Trophy Lite
I compete in bullseye shooting with my Colt 1911 Gold Cup and was looking for way to add a red dot optic without extensive modifications to my baby! The Ed Brown 1911 slide with RMR cutout was just what I was looking for. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the slide required very little fitting work - just a few gradual swipes with the Brownells slide/frame file and viola! I added the Ed Brown ss extractor, titanium firing pin, spring & firing pin stop which allows be to easily switch between my original Gold Cup slide with adjustable iron sights and my new Ed Brown sight mounted with an Ultradot red dot. The only negative comment I have is the price of the Trijicon RMR night sight mounting plate - ouch!

Great slide
Very high quality slide. Absolutely no tool marks or blemishes. Installed on a rock island 1911 and rails were a nice snug and only needed light lapping for a perfect rattle free fit. The rear of the slide is a little long so it can be blended to the frame. I also Installed a ed brown semi drop in barrel and wilson combat gunsmith fit bushing and i have a nice solid lockup and i cant wait to take it to range. Only con is the price when adding the $200 trijicon mount and $500 rmr.
Ed Brown perfection
Precision perfect right out of the box. Well worth the money. Cut for Trigicon but needs the (expensive) mounting plate which comes with unnecessary iron sights. All in all a very nice addition for competition.
Ed Brown RMR cut slide works great
Replaced a Springfield A1 slide with this. Used the A1 slide parts on the Ed Brown Slide. Mounted my RMR on the slide. I use Trijicon tall iron sights. I now have about 1000 rounds through the gun. No issues so far. It seems to be a good slide if you do not want to get your slide milled. I did not have too use a gunsmith for fitting issues.

I was suspicious about the Trijicon mount and how it would work. It mounted up in 30 minutes ! Great way to use my RMR that had been sitting around for a few years....I highly recommend this slide for an easy upgrade to red dot sighting on a pistol.

I ordered the Ed Brown 1911 government slide 45acp in stainless steel with "RMR slide cut"
The fitting of the slide to my Colt 70 series stainless steel frame was straight forward. The "RMR slide cut" requires an optic plate. Brownells carries a Trijicon plate for RMR optics, but I could not confirm that it would work, so I ordered a plate from ZRtactical. It has not arrived as of the writing of this review. I attached a photo of the slide cut. The middle holes are drilled and not tapped. They correspond to the attachment points of my Trijicon SRO and my Holosun 507c. I assume these are recesses in the slide to accomdate longer screws after attaching an optic plate. The remaining 4 holes are drilled and tapped for 6/32 screws. If it were not for the inaccurate representation of the slide cut I would have given it 5 stars.
