1911 GOVERNMENT MODEL FRAME

Brownells is proud to introduce their BRN-1911 Government Model frame. Starting as a high-grade forging, each frame is precision machined to exacting specifications for exceptional fit and performance, making it a substantial step above cheap generic 1911 frames. An ideal foundation for any custom 1911, each Brownells BRN-1911 Government Model frame arrives ready for the slide, barrel, sights, and fire-control components of your choice to be fitted. All holes are drilled in one setup, allowing for more accurate alignment throughout.

NOTE: Gunsmith fitting is required - a well-built 1911 ain’t no plug-n-play plastic pistol

  • Standard Government Model (full-sized) single-stack frame
  • Available in stainless steel
  • .250" radius cuts for an extended beavertail safety
  • FFL required for purchase
  • Series 70

Each BRN-1911 1911 Government Model frame comes with a pre-cut .250" radius on the tang, ready for an extended Ed Brown style grip safety to protect the web of the shooter’s hand from the dreaded "hammer bite."

You get what you pay for
MSH area side walls were higher then 3 housings I tried. Had to file them down and recontour the radious. Spacing between these walls too wide. Gaps show on sides of MSH Trigger stirrup channels at the shoe area too tight, had to clean them out. Area where the head of a guide rod butts up against isn't set back far enough. Causes the nose of a full length guide to protrude out. Beware when buying a part that you need to pay a transfer fee. You can send the part back, but you're out the transfer / background check money
