Most sights are going to require fitting. This is common. And allows for precise installation to your firearm. Meprolight sights are what comes standard on most Kimber pistols. Therefore, if you want drop in sights on a Kimber then they are the way to go.

maybe for some kimbers

gunsmith couldn't mount on a pro carry 2 without fitting- not what i wanted or expected. he had no problem installing a meprolight on it previously (drop-in).
