A great tool...indispensable for fitting a beaver tail grip safety...
I was a bit apprehensive about installing a beaver tail grip safety as once you remove metal there's no putting it back. But...it was a pretty simple operation and looks great once done. Just follow the directions and be careful...file...test fit...file and fit...repeat until done. The first time I did it took a total of about two hours but the end result was worth it. This is a fine tool for the purpose.

MUST HAVE ITEM
This jig was just what the dr. ordered. My first time doing anything like this and the end result was outstanding. Looks like the gun came with this beavertail safety. Thanks Brownells for carrying this jig at an affordable price

Just the ticket for a successful install
A sharp flat file with slow even strokes provides for a very professional looking install. Absolutely the best way to install the Ed Brown grip safety. Some fine sandpaper and polishing gave way to a very professional looking install. The absolute best tool for the job.

Makes installing that beavertail easy as pie! The only way to go for anyone looking to install an Ed Brown Bevertail.

Super simple and easy to use
I don't know how this could be much better. It's cheap and with just a bit of file work you have a perfectly square fit.

Ed Brown beavertail jig
Worked great but would be nice if it was hardened.

Beavertail jig
Bought this from Ed Brown and used it to install a beavertail on a Colt. Since it was my first install I was more than a little apprehensive since it is possible to damage the frame. But I took it very slow and easy. It seems like it took forever but the Safety fits perfectly. Very simple and ends are hard enough that fies won't cut them so its well worth the investment. Gettin ready to tighten the slide-wish me luck!

Fixture is NOT hardened
Since the fixture is not hardened the file shears through it with ease and it can only be used as a guide. Honestly, I couldn't believe how easily this fixture was ruined and I was not able to finish. Wilsons is hardened, but you will have to buy their grip safety. It was a breeze with the WC fixture I've heard tell the manufacturer is less than enthused about their customers and I now believe it. I'd have paid a couple bucks more for the heat treat, but will not buy again, I can make this myself and case harden it for a better feel when removing material
