Just what I needed
Just what I needed to build up a second mainspring housing. I like keeping the OEM parts alone so I ordered another housing and needed this kit. It was an easy install. I replaced the mainspring with an 18 pounder. Other than that there were no surprises.

A nice kit to rebuild or replace lost parts of the 1911 Main Spring Housing. I had to build a lanyard loop housing for my Walther Colt 22LR 1911. Rail Gun and this kit has all the parts
1911 Mainspring Housing rebuild kit
I recently purchased three of the SS spring sets for my SA 1911-A1 in 9mm and 45 ACP plus my older Ruger 1911 45 ACP. I installed the spring kits in new Ed Brown arched mainspring housings. The ones with the vertical grooves. What a difference. The arched grip feels so much more comfortable over a flat housing design. Plus the bottom of the frame / grip no longer digs into the palm of my hand. I was contemplating doing a "Bobtail" on each of my pistols but this was a much easier and cheaper solution with great results. The spring kit is everything you need to rebuild a mainspring housing. As a kit the overall price is cheaper than purchasing each component on their own. Good product and a great price. Thanks Brownells.
SUPERB Quality
I used this mainspring build kit to build up a Ruger flat mainspring housing. I have to say I was much more than just pleased by the parts that were included. Everything fit perfectly and effortlessly into the MS housing and works great. While the pins are all high quality and came in Brownells labeled bags, the mainspring itself is (at least in my kit and another reviewers) a Wolf spring.

These parts fit wonderfully in my newly purchased Ed Brown Blank MSH! What is great about this kit is that they didn't just take parts from "no name" manufacturers; they took some of the best parts they could find and combined them into one package! The mainspring was a little stiff at first but, after cocking the hammer about 50 times, it loosened up. The only real con I can give about this kit is that it is a little tricky to install without a vice (Had to have another person hold the mainspring down while I installed the pin). But, I'm not going to deduct a star because of that. Overall, this is a great kit for those who are either buying a new MSH or just want to replace worn parts.
