Once again, my go to store
Trying to find the adapter plate for rigging my new Springfield TRP Operator 1911 AOS with a Holosun optic was proving challenging. Because the removable plate on the slide incorporates the 1911's rear sight, a special adapter plate is required or you end up with an optic and no usable iron sights should it fail.
Springfield Armory sells the adapter plate for $149 but it is almost always out of stock and they have no idea when they will get more in. Brownell's had it and for much less.
Bought the Enhanced model
Enhanced model is great - giving space for the spring to be captured as the bushing is being rotated. It makes it much easier to capture the recoil spring before it flies across the room!
Bushing wrench bliss
Own a few different wrenches, NONE work as well as this one from Brownells.
Great shopping experience
Love the wrench, lightweight and yet solid.
Great addition to my cleaning kit.
The product is innovative and most helpful!
I had struggled to remove the barrel bushing on my Les Baer UTC but this wrench tool has helped tremendously disassembling the firearm. The wrench arrived in a timely manner.
1911 bushing wrench
Works like a charm, saves finger nails and skinned fingers.
Quality products
Two excellent 1911 full sized silver magazines at half the cost of other sources.
Solid Tool
Typical Brownell quality. Used one of those plastic wrenches for year after losing my steel wrench. This is far and away the best I have used to date.
Great Wrench
This is a great 1911 wrench...my second one. The extra "bump" works really well for containing those super strong recoil springs from becoming mis-guided missiles. Had one of those stick in a ceiling tile. As usual, Brownells makes a quality product.
A Must For 1911 A1 owners and gunsmiths:
I had a 1911 A1 for over 30 years, and never really needed a barrel bushing wrench. It had a GI guide rod. This gun was stolen from me, and the gun I replaced it with has a full length guide rod. This wrench makes take down and re assembly of my RIA 1911A1 possible!!! It allows you to keep the rod depressed as you disassemble and reassemble it. I wish I'd bought one back when I had my original 1911 A1. I love the ease this non marring wrench provides. It also offers a matter of safety, by keeping the plug from being thrown into your eyes, or getting lost. Yes, I would recommend this wrench to a friend, or anyone else who works on 1911 A1 pistols, especially with tight barrel bushings and full length guide rods. Andy C.
