NOT A DROP IN
When I ordered this unit I was under the impression that it was a drop in kind of thing. Thankfully I love to work on guns and make things fit. This turned into a project. I had to fit the slide to my frame, specifically the groove that the ejector rides in had to be filed and stoned until the slide could be installed. That done, the next issue was to enlarge the safety notch as it was not allowing the safety to be engaged when the slide was locked in battery. Filed 1 /16" of metal out of the front surface of the notch. Other minor tweaks included stoning a lead on the front edge of the center block that rides over the disconnector and stoning a slight lead on the bottom rear corner of the slide stop notch. Now it runs like the wind. I can use the same frame with its original .45ACP parts, a Colt Ace .22 conversion kit and this one in 9mm, all with the same trigger. And best of all, I now have another 9mm 1911 without jumping through govt. hoops. Win Win!
