1911 45 ACP SUPPRESSOR READY THREADED BARRELS Reviews & Ratings

Identical to the standard drop-in Ed Brown barrel, but longer length and threaded for use with suppressors. Thread size is 0.578 x 28 tpi RH. Includes link, link pin, bushing and thread protector. Barrel accuracy comes from using the highest quality materials and manufacturing methods. Ed Brown Products is committed to both. The barrels are made from T-416 modified, gun barrel quality stainless steel bar stock, just like a benchrest rifle barrel. T-416 is certified pure, there are no foreign materials, and no hard or soft spots to worry about. It is stress-relieved and heat-treated prior to final rifling and refinishing. Ed Brown barrels are precision machine cut from a 3 pound chunk bar of this top quality steel. Ed Brown barrels are rifled by precision broach in the original six lands and grooves, one turn in sixteen, left hand twist as originally designed by John Browning. This deep cut, broached rifling gives superior accuracy with all types of bullets, including lead. Ed Brown barrels are heat-treated by an aerospace certified heat treat facility, and sub-zero frozen for maximum strength and stress relief. This means more accuracy and longer barrel life to the shooter. Ed Brown has also cut the dimensions to max tolerance on the outside of the barrel. This means less fitting work for you, and more accuracy. A suppressor equipped with a Nielsen device (such as 276-000-055) is REQUIRED for reliability in a 1911. This is also referred to as a booster, kicker, or Linear Inertial Decoupler.

SPECS: Fits - Government or Commander Slides. Chambered in 45ACP, with a 1-16 twist. Muzzle threads are 0.578x28 threads per inch.

Minor fitting does not apply

In the Q&A a customer was told minor fitting may be needed. The Remington R1 departs from standard 1911 design. The R1 has a different slide lock and magazines need a relief cut for the slide to operate. It would take more than minor fitting for this barrel to fit and work. I would suggest you eliminate the advice from your site and have one of your crackerjack gunsmiths do an evaluation before advising another customer with a R1.

Still on the fence

So its a 1911. It will not drop in any 1911 and just work. I took to my gunsmith. The lugs had som material removed. Full lock up in a tisas 45 . It took 50 rounds to fully break in . The first 20 or so so fte double feed not locking back. Then it just started working. 50 rounds with zero issues. Running a rugged obsidian 45. Time will tell

Misleading

Great product but it needs fitting from gunsmith, thus, more $$$.

1911 45 ACP THREADED BAR

This is not a drop in. You will need to go to a gunsmith. That Being said, all 1911 barrels need to be fitted by a competent smith. They are all constructed larger so that they can be fitted. I feel confident that this is a solid product, but it needs to be stated better that you will need to know how to fit a 1911 parrel on your own or go to a smith. It is an involved process and can easily turn a $250 barrel into a paper weight.

Not Plug and Play

I had to do some fitting to get proper lockup etc. When my SilencerCo suppressor came I had to re-cut the threaded end. Threads not deep enough, suppressor would not screw on. I tried suppressor on several different other barrel manufacturers. Tried different adapters from SilencerCo. The issue was the barrel. One of my trades is a machinist so these were not a major issue for me.
