Looks good so far
My Ed Brown looks good so far. Have not had the opportunity to install. Will advise when I do.
Ed brown threaded barrel
The ed brown threaded Barrel in 45acp was easy to install, it took minor fitting with a small file and high grit sand paper to polish out file marks, you don’t have to be a gun smith to install this barrel. I took measurements off the stock barrel to get the treaded barrel close then used magic maker to see tight spots and rub points and slowly removed metal for a proper fit, link pin and barrel feet were perfect, Brownells shipping is top notch, you pay and they get it out the door,

Excellent barrel
Very well built. Glass smooth rifling. Crisp well cut threading. Went together in my Ruger SR1911 with very little fitting around the recoil lug area. I would buy again.

Better than I expected
I have installed a few “drop in” threaded barrels and had to do some fitting to get them to go into battery with the correct breach face clearances. This one did drop in, work flawlessly and fit better than the factory barrel.

Ed Brown .45 barrel
After reading a review where the customer bought this barrel for his RIA .45 Pistol and it didn't need to be fitted by a Gunsmith I decided to buy one and it worked in my mine WITHOUT needing to have a Gunsmith fit it !!! Best drop-in barrel you can buy for the RIA .45 Pistol !!!

Exceptional Quality
Very Strongly Recommended.
I bought a "Can" for use on on my Colt's MK IV 1911 Govt Model. I needed a threaded Govt barrel. I evaluated available, well-respected threaded barrels, requiring “minimal” fitting.
I purchased Ed Brown’s Precision Machined, Threaded Barrel with Bushing. The EB barrel, with bushing, was an easy 99% "Drop-In”. By removing 0.002" of material from the barrel's hood (length), I achieved the desired High Quality Fit.
Final Results: Repeatable, High Accuracy. My Colt, with newly fitted EB barrel and bushing, shot Cloverleaf Groups @ 25 yards (from a "rest"). Five independent, 5-round groups were fired using Hornady Critical Duty 45 Auto +P 220 grain Ammunition. No “feed failures” occured.
Time and ammo restrictions prevented Accuracy evaluations with the suppressor installed. That said, 200 Suppressed “Range Rounds” (Federal 230 grain FMJ) were fired, hand held, from 15 yards. No “feed failures” occurred.
Ed Brown’s 1911 Government Threaded Barrel, with Bushing is an exceptionally good choice.
Good threaded barrel for 1911
Quick delivery and exactly as described. The barrel needed some minor work by my gunsmith and works very well in the Springfield 1911A1. Without the gunsmith it would have been impossible to fit it.
Working well for me but not drop in
Needed a 1911 barrel for a can and found this. Read instructions Ed Brown’s website and decided to give it a go. Test fitted it in various 1911s. Barrel hood too wide for Colts (can be narrowed). Barrel fit into other slides: a Springfield, NH, Kimber. Hood width/length was good and barrel lugs fit corresponding slide lugs. Picked a gun to fit the barrel too. Test fit barrel with slide and frame, slide would not go into battery by about 1/16”. Viewing through slide stop pin hole in frame, I saw the radius of the barrel feet impinged slide stop pin when slide in battery. *Per instructions*, used a narrow file to remove material in the barrel lug recesses, just a bit, even on both sides, test, repeat, until slide would go into battery. Took 20 minutes. Tested with live fire, works like it should! Very few 1911 parts are drop in, I am a 1911 armorer (not a smith) so I understand the platform a bit. Wasn’t hard to do but not for everyone’s skill level.
