Identical to the standard drop-in Ed Brown barrel, but longer length and threaded for use with suppressors. Thread size is 0.578 x 28 tpi RH. Includes link, link pin, bushing and thread protector. Barrel accuracy comes from using the highest quality materials and manufacturing methods. Ed Brown Products is committed to both. The barrels are made from T-416 modified, gun barrel quality stainless steel bar stock, just like a benchrest rifle barrel. T-416 is certified pure, there are no foreign materials, and no hard or soft spots to worry about. It is stress-relieved and heat-treated prior to final rifling and refinishing. Ed Brown barrels are precision machine cut from a 3 pound chunk bar of this top quality steel. Ed Brown barrels are rifled by precision broach in the original six lands and grooves, one turn in sixteen, left hand twist as originally designed by John Browning. This deep cut, broached rifling gives superior accuracy with all types of bullets, including lead. Ed Brown barrels are heat-treated by an aerospace certified heat treat facility, and sub-zero frozen for maximum strength and stress relief. This means more accuracy and longer barrel life to the shooter. Ed Brown has also cut the dimensions to max tolerance on the outside of the barrel. This means less fitting work for you, and more accuracy. A suppressor equipped with a Nielsen device (such as 276-000-055) is REQUIRED for reliability in a 1911. This is also referred to as a booster, kicker, or Linear Inertial Decoupler.

High quality 1911 threaded barrel. Did take a bit of fitting in my Kimber Stainless TLE II, but was totally expected. Solidly locks up now. I expect it to be very accurate, though I haven’t been to the range yet; will update if there are any issues. Highly recommended!

Ed brown threaded barrel

The ed brown threaded Barrel in 45acp was easy to install, it took minor fitting with a small file and high grit sand paper to polish out file marks, you don’t have to be a gun smith to install this barrel. I took measurements off the stock barrel to get the treaded barrel close then used magic maker to see tight spots and rub points and slowly removed metal for a proper fit, link pin and barrel feet were perfect, Brownells shipping is top notch, you pay and they get it out the door,

Good threaded barrel for 1911

Quick delivery and exactly as described. The barrel needed some minor work by my gunsmith and works very well in the Springfield 1911A1. Without the gunsmith it would have been impossible to fit it.

Working well for me but not drop in

Needed a 1911 barrel for a can and found this. Read instructions Ed Brown’s website and decided to give it a go. Test fitted it in various 1911s. Barrel hood too wide for Colts (can be narrowed). Barrel fit into other slides: a Springfield, NH, Kimber. Hood width/length was good and barrel lugs fit corresponding slide lugs. Picked a gun to fit the barrel too. Test fit barrel with slide and frame, slide would not go into battery by about 1/16”. Viewing through slide stop pin hole in frame, I saw the radius of the barrel feet impinged slide stop pin when slide in battery. *Per instructions*, used a narrow file to remove material in the barrel lug recesses, just a bit, even on both sides, test, repeat, until slide would go into battery. Took 20 minutes. Tested with live fire, works like it should! Very few 1911 parts are drop in, I am a 1911 armorer (not a smith) so I understand the platform a bit. Wasn’t hard to do but not for everyone’s skill level.

PERFECT in every way!

It arrived much quicker than promised (3 days instead of 7) it dropped right in to my Rock Island Armory .45 1911. No fitting required. In fact, the link lines up better than the barrel from RIA. It's smooth, secure, and cycles like silk. In short, all my hopes and none of my fears were delivered. Even the thread protector is sexy (The thread protector is black, has a more aggressive look/texture, and is not the one shown in the picture.) 10/10 would recommend. If I absolutely had to say something negative about this barrel it would be that it came in a zip-lock bag instead of a box. If you drop $250 for a barrel it should come in a box.

Excellent fit in old Colt Series 80

I was very impressed with the fit and finish of this barrel. Great bang for the buck, as it comes with the bushing, link, and link pin. Bushing is fit to the barrel, the link is installed, and the standing lugs are machined for proper fit to the slide stop. Minor fitting may be required for the hood and the bushing to your slide. My old Colt Series 80 is loose on most specs and this barrel dropped right in. The factory barrel had a lot of play when in full battery. This one is locked down solid. Very nice improvement. I DO NOT CONSIDER MINOR FITTING TO BE A CON.

Great deal/ Great barrel!

I have bought 3 of these for customer guns and 1 for my own. When you buy this, understand that you can't just drop it in and go, it needs to be fitted. I had no issues with thread pitch or threading on a suppressor with a piston. Perhaps I lucked out, but I had no unforseen issues with installing these barrels or performance. And if the other gentleman really doesn't like his, I'll gladly take it off his hands.
