Special Taps
Wanted to buy the shop kit (Screws,Taps and tool) but it was out of stock. Had to buy the small pack of screws and purchase the taps separately. All is well. Repaired some loose threads and installed the oversized screws.

Saved my rifle
I bought an old Savage 110, pre-accutrigger from a guy and later found the threads had been stripped on the receiver. I purchased this with the oversized screws and it saved the rifle. I mistakenly bought the taper style, which I would have preferred the bottom style. I was able to get the job done because the holes I tapped were on the rear of the receiver. However, I had a brand new rifle I tried to clean the coating out of the screw holes as it bound up the screws. It wouldn't work on the forward screw holes. My fault for clicking wrong, but otherwise an awesome item.

Spendy but worth it.
This went along with the same size screws. No drilling required, just carefully run the tap in and the old stripped threads were resized and the receiver was as good or better than new!!

Tap
The tap seemed to be just as advertised, however, I had already drilled the hole to big. Finally found a screw that was big enough to get a bite into the few threads I had cut. Mounting a Weaver scope mount on a 10/22 not real worried.

Bottoming Tap
I used this to (obviously) rethread the receiver for my .22 after it took an unplanned trip down a dirt road taking the screws and scope with it. The tap worked flawlessly, and I was impressed with how well it cut. (Also the screws that brownells sells to match this wow. Just wow, Ive never had a hand tapped hole fit a screw so tightly.) Great tool, great combo. (But hopefully I wont have to buy again.)

No gunsmith in town
Made a worry go away. Quality tap. Very easy to use with the proper tap handle. I don't have a drill press, so I used a tap handle level attached after leveling my receiver in the vise. Trim the screws to fit and your ready to go.

A must have....
This is must have item. Along with the screws this will save you and your customer unwanted headaches. No need to drill out 6-48 screw holes. Just run the tap and screw on the mount.
