I added a sling swivel to an old shotgun and the coarse screw was almost perfect. A quick twist of the drill bit and viola.

An ideal (& inexpensive) swivel post set
Let's face it folks, there are rifles out there have have virtually no front and rear swivel posts at all. In my case, I purchased an Auto Ordnance M1 30 Cal Carbine with a tactical folding stock arrangement and I wanted to add a bipod (which I couldn't at this point). But alas, this particular rifle had no swivel posts at all. So what to do? After carefully searching the internet, I stumbled upon this unique set on Brownells website and ordered several sets (they are very inexpensive). Wallaaaaa....swivel post problem eliminated! All I did was drill a small hole (centered) under the front portion of the stock and then worked in one of the screw posts - it was too easy and took all but 3 or 5 minutes total to get it done. No damage was done to any part of the rifle. Then I added a picatinny rail mount adapter that is designed to fit over the front swivel post, and I then connected a bipod over the picatinny rail. Boy, talk about convenience. I think I may ordered a dozen more of these little sets because they really come in handy - especially when you least expect it as in the case of long guns that have no swivel posts at all (and don't have picatinny arrangements underneath - such as many bolt action rifles on the market). Very satisfied!!!!
Perfect...Except...
I would easily give this product (actually, these products) five stars, except for the fact that I only needed one of the two items included. Both the bolt-type threaded sling mount (with nut) and the wood-screw threaded mount are included in the package...I only needed/wanted the former. Brownells should sell these separately. If that were the case, each is definitely a five-star product - well-machined, finished, and robust. Now I have a spare sling mount that I will probably never use.

One piece missing.
I bought this sling swivel and with shipping it was a little expensive for what it is.The nylon washer that is used to time the sling swivel was absent and so another week was wasted while I waited for one of those to arrive. It was frustrating but was my fault as I failed to notice it wasn't in the product description.
