Like magic!
I bought this product to blue a model cannon after reading all the reviews of this and other products. I am so glad I chose this one. Time was well-spent prepping the new metal while waiting for the Oxpho-Blue Creme to arrive: emery cloth, steel wool, and alcohol cleaning with gloves on. Application was very straight-forward and provided immediate results. I am stunned by how great my cannon barrel looks after two passes.
GREAT PRODUCT
OXPHO-BLUE is the best and easiest to use bluing that I've ever used. No rust process. No rinsing with water. Great product.
easy rebluing
this product is great. I am not an expert gunsmith . I tried another rebluing product but it didn't work. that product only did part of my barrel , I tried thr3 times with it . same results. I ordered this product hoping that it would work, since I have said before , I am not a gunsmith. the first time I used it it worked like a charm. my barrel came out like it did when I bought the gun from my stepfather. I am now going to use it to reblue my other guns, to bring them back to like new shape. thank for inventing this product for people like me. now I can get that great rebluing that can be only done by gunsmiths without the huge cost.
Very impressed
Very nice product. Everyone kept telling me to get this instead of fighting with the blue bottle stuff. I wish I would have listened earlier. I refinished an old Weaver Marksman 4X scope to put on my grandfathers rifle, the way he used to have it. After three failed attempts with the other brand, I used this Oxpho cream. Three coats and it almost perfectly matches the Burris gloss rings. I was pushing two minutes per coat, a little longer than the directions, but it sounds like others have had the same issue. It's great. I'll use it again.
Great stuff
Been using this product for allot of years for touchup and for complete bluing on firearms where the time and cost of other procedures just aren't an option. Also use it all the time for finishing tools and fixtures in the shop. Forget the instructions though as you will get a MUCH better end result by using a good cleaning/degreasing product and handling the steel like you would if you were rust bluing...in other words keep things clean and wear protective gloves when handling the steel. It will certainly blue steel that isn't cleaned like I do but the finish won't be as deep, even and durable. Great stuff! Rick Barker
Good Product
easiest bluing I have ever used. works well after a through polish and prep.
great stuff!!
easy to use, great finish!!!!
BEST COLD BLUING
HANDS DOWN THE BEST COLD BLUING YOU"LL FIND.
Great Product /Amazing Results
I have tried other bluing products like you get form the big box stores with little success. I went with this from a friends recommendation and wish I had years ago. Follow the directions it is so easy to get a great finish. I took a rusted 40 year old gun to a like new finish. The 4 oz has done two shotguns so far with a half bottle left. I cannot say enough about this product and Brownells was a super company to dael with, I have already recommended them.
Excellent cold bluing product
I used Oxpho Blue Cream to completely reblue a 870 Express that had pretty bad rusting and the gun came out looking like new. I prepped the surface with bluing & rust remover and fine steel wool until the metal was fairly uniform looking(3 application/rinses for me)then thoroughly degreased the metal with TCE soaked paper towels. Then I used a heat gun to warm the metal and applied the cream per the instruction on the bottle. I ended up putting on 4 or 5 coats with steel wool buffing in between to get a very dark finish; the entire process took about 2 hours. I would recommend this products to anyone needing to blue a gun, it works well and it fairly easy to use.
