MONOGRIPS FOR REVOLVERS

MONOGRIPS FOR REVOLVERS Reviews & Ratings

One-piece construction keeps the grip rock-solid on the frame - no shift or wobble to destroy concentration and accuracy. Ergonomic design positions right- or left-hand exactly, shot after shot; plus helps absorb recoil. Nylon and rubber grips feature a stippled surface that stops hand slip without causing clothing wear when carried in a holster. Rubber, Round-To-Square grips give the appearance and feel of a comfortable, hand-filing square grip on factory, round-grip frames.

SPECS: Nylon molded and reinforced, a hard, tough grip. Rubber molded from recoil-absorbing rubber. Blackhawk® fits new model Blackhawk®, new model Single Six®, and old, large frame Vaquero®.

Too 'Slick' [?]
i bought these to try because the 'rubber' ones were OoS and i should have waited. i wanted to use these on my DR target K-38 but the nylon is way to 'slippery'. these would be good for maybe concealed carry where you don't want your shirt to hang up on the grip and 'print'. but for target shooting, these need to be 'grippier', rubber sticky for a hot humid day at Camp Perry. other than that, they popped right on and look decent.

Nice grip but difficult to install
Putting this grip on a Ruger Blackhawk almost requires 3 hands. 1. It's extremely tight. using 2 credit cards or plastic shim on the sides because the rubber catches on the grip frame and won't allow the frame to slide in. Maybe a lubrication might help. 2. The screw anchor at the bottom of the frame scratches the hell out of the anodized aluminum frame. Of course once it's installed you won't see the scratches. 3. On the plus side it makes the revolver easier to control. Recommend only if the above doesn't matter to you.

Not the Best
These certainly are not my favorite grips but unfortunately they are on two different guns that I recently purchased. To start off, these have to be the ugliest grips ever produced for the K-Frame. They look like something that belongs on a Taurus. Second complaint: they are too rubbery and the compound gets very sticky feeling. Finally, I don't like the mounting system which makes the grip longer than it needs to be. Bottom line, if you want a nice grip with finger grooves, buy Pachmayr Grippers.
2
Poor Fit
I agree with the previous review about the poor fit. I have a 158 series Security-Six and after installation the backstrap is not flush with the grip. The grip is raised above the backstrap, creating two edges digging into your hand. Trimming them will neither be precise, nor aesthetically pleasing. It's a shame because they would otherwise be exellent.

Not what I thought
I purchased this thinking it would fit over my existing walnut handle on my S&W model 17. I didn't realize I would have to remove my grips. I thought it would slip over my grips. I own a Beretta 92FS and I have rubber grips on it that fit over the handle. I have large hands and wanted the extra large feel. This was a waste of money because of my misunderstanding. I went to a gun shop and was told if I removed the walnut grips it would reduce the revolvers value. Write it off to lesson learned.

product isn't the one shown
Why doesn't Hogue make a palm-fitting square grip for the taurus small frame? The rounded grip just doesn't work.
