You get what you pay for
This thing is the handiest device to come along since they started putting latches on toilet doors! Since the first time I tried this, I haven't used my RCBS bench mounted priming tool at all. The mechanical advantage is perfect, the feel is completely accurate. I would recommend having a seperate head already set up with shellholder for the calibers you use a lot.
Super
High quality, good feel, will last forever.
How priming should be
I purchased this priming tool after using the other "big" companies brands. This tool has a much better fit & finish (built like a precision tank). The sense of feel when seating primers is fantastic, no more worries about crushed, belmished primers due to the seating rod not fitting the primer correctly. I liked this priming tool so much I bought a second tool & set one up for large primers, the other for small. If you're priming up hundreds of cases for "blasting" ammo, this tool may not be for you, it is slower to operate because you need to handle the primers individually. On the other hand, if you are loading up meticulously prepaired precision rounds, I don't think you'll find a better priming tool. I'm very pleased with mine.
Perfect for my 338 Lapua Mag reloads
Until I got my primer tool, I had problems with seating my 338 Lapua Mag primers with any consistency. Most were not completely seated. The tool eliminated that problem and now all primers are seated correctly to the exact same depth. I had 200 cases that were primed with a progressive loader that were not seated correctly. I used to the tool to reseat all of the primers iand now they are all set to factory specs. The only thing that bothers me is having to place each primer by hand.
The only primer tool(s) I use
I purchased the first one to use with military .223 Rem. cases because it holds the case and primer squarely in line with each other. I liked it so much that I purchased 2 more so I could have one permanently set up for each of the three head sizes that I load.
Works, if you read the directions
Being a guy, I tried jumping in before reading the directions. Once I did, I learned to use the included shims, and how to lock in the shell-holder with the set screws. Incredibly fine touch. I use it for the 600-yard-line loads for the HP Rifle across-the-course loads.
Great product
I use this priming tool to prime several different calibers, and have been extremely happy with it. After my last hand priming tool quit working, I finally broke down and spent the money for the Sinclair and after using it I have to say it was worth every penny. The quality of construction is way above any other priming tool I have used, and the level of feel as the primer is seated has to be felt to be appreciated. I used the Sinclair shell holders and they worked flawlessly. I would recomend this tool to anyone who wants to use one of the best priming tools made.
Great tool!
Love this tool! It works fantastic. It is not case rim thickness dependent which provides consistent depth. I highly recommend the Sinclair shell holders for use in this tool.

Priming Tool
A beautifully made tool that is very consistent with great "feel." That's the good news, the bad, adjusting primer depth is insanely difficult and inaccurate, prepare to be quite annoyed with this!

Good but I expected better
Works fine, materials are obviously high quality. But when I first tried to use it there were burrs on the set screw holes and I couldn’t get the shell holders all the way into the head. I finally had to pound them on the bench to get them to seat properly. A tool this expensive should not be so. Also it is a bit cryptic at first until you get the feel for it. There is no set position for the head and so how far you tighten the head onto the shell dictated seating depth and force. It took me a lot of tinkering around to get the head set where I wanted it. And the instructions for setting the head are less than clear. After messing with it for close to an hour I finally got it set where it works great. Overall it performs awesome, but was painful for me to get to that point. For as much as I spent on the tool and shell holders I expected a better, easier to use tool. I had bought this one to replace a plastic priming tool that I broke after 3 years of use. I expect this one from Sinclair to last the rest of my life.
