You would have recieved 5 stars, but there were no 8-40 positive stop stainless screws in the box. I'll purchase them separately.

Good Quality But Need More Choices

It would be ideal to have a choice of lengths ranging from 3/16" to 7/16", by 1/16" increments. Or, at least have a longer length in the 1/2" realm that could be cut as required.

Too long for Rem 700 front site holes

Really disappointed to have waited a couple of weeks and paid $20 with shipping only to find out they are much too long to plug the holes after removing front sight on a late 80s/early 90s Remington 700 BDL. When it says this product fits a 700, it only means the receiver holes, not the front sight holes on the barrel. Feeling misled... Only good thing I can say is they arrived and seem to be good quality.

Needs Filing to Fit Flush

Just like you are reading THIS review, I took the time to read every review about these plug screws, PLUS I chatted with an online agent who highly recommended these and convinced me they would screw in FLUSH to my barrel. I have a like-new Remington 700 BDL like thousands of others. Bottom line: the screw threads match perfectly (6-48) as promised, but are hardly flush when they bottom out. In addition to the head sticking way above my barrel, the slot in the heads EASILY twisted out of shape as if my screwdriver slipped. I did not over torque these soft-metal screws, and my driver did not slip, though the pics I attached sure look like I messed them up. Now I know why they sell you 12 in a pack even when you only need a max of 4. To make these work I had to buy their "Gizzy" to hold the tiny screw for filing down to make it flush, AND I ordered their pricey bottom tap to be sure all the threads were as clean as can be. Sill waiting since it's taken 4 days to ship these items.....Not pleased at all so far, but glad I have 8-9 more screws to practice making them fit the way Brownell promised. Tech crew was helpful only to affirm that I had done all I could. They had no real explanation for why these did not fit flush as promised.
