A.R.M.S.® 17S BIPODS

A.R.M.S.® 17S BIPODS Reviews & Ratings

The Magpul Bipod for A.R.M.S.® 17S Style mounts offers serious strength and versatility at a price that provides unmatched value. Magpul’s lightweight Mil-Spec hard anodized 6061 T-6 aluminum and injection-molded polymer bipod brings innovation in ergonomics, functionality, strength and value together. Its low-profile design conceals its internal mechanisms and hardware, smoothly brushing off snags and bumps. Optimized for rapid one-handed adjustments, the bipod quickly and quietly transitions between user configurations.

In the shooting position, it is easily loaded with stabilizing forward tension without fear of failure or warping. Its aluminum and stainless steel components, along with its injection-molded reinforced polymer, ensure years of dependable performance and reliability, all while shaving weight. It's extremely light weight, at just over 11 oz.

Leg extensions slide and lock securely with the push of a button on any of the seven half-inch spaced locking detents. The legs extend 3.5 inches, from 6.8” to 10.3”. An industry-exclusive 50° of total tilt and 40° of total pan are controlled by a glove-friendly knurled tool-less bipod locking knob located between the extended legs. It also has the exclusive ability to lock pan at 0° while maintaining full tilt functionality. Folded, the streamlined housing and legs fit neatly under the barrel and are just under 2.3” deep and 3.3” wide. Anodized surfaces and tight, precision tolerances mitigate squeaks and rattles.

A soft rubber bipod locking knob cap is attached to the locking knob gives users a steady, non-marring forward rest while the bipod is folded. Additionally, its staggered soft rubber feet hold fast on a variety of shooting surfaces and are easily removed with a roll pin punch. Should users choose to change feet, the Magpul Bipod’s legs accept most Atlas pattern bipod replaceable feet, except for the Atlas 5-H style.

Bought it for the weight
Yes it is light, so if that is what you are looking for this will do. I need a bipod to be stable, with the legs extended this is NOT STABLE. I have already replaced it with a Harris, and if I hadn't thrown away the packaging before I got to the range it would be going back to Brownell.

Good but not rock stable
I have always bought Harris bipods. I contacted Harris to learn if their bipod would work on my Ruger Precision Rimfire M-loc and when they did not respond I bought the Magpul. The Magpul has 2 advantages over the Harris: you can pan and swivel. BUT the Harris' advantage over the Magpul is the Harris is rock steady. No matter how hard I tighten the adjusting knob in the Magpul the rifle still can be moved slightly (swivel) if I was not careful. Both are very well made. The Magpul would have the advantage in the field and the Harris has the advantage on the bench. If the Magpul could be made completely steady, I would give it 5 stars.

Works well but doesnt pan like the other
Purchased it for a LR rifle. Worked well, even though the right leg needed a bit more force to pull thanthe left. It did work as intended but had convinced myself that for the added cost, I wanted the pan option the Picatany model carries. If you dont mind the non pan option (which I am unlikely to use much anyhow), it was a good product. My con reference to inaccurate (to machine tolerance) is in reference to the right leg not sliding as well. I did return and ordered the Picatany style...

Not what I expected from MAGPUL
This will work; However, it is not my Harris quality.

It's OK, thought it would be better
I attached this to a recent AR build in 30BLK. Was excited to get the bipod and expected a lot from it. Adjustments are straight forward and easy enough. But had difficulty with loose, wobbly legs even after adjusting leg tension screws. The pan adjustment is nice but the lock mechanism is stiff and seems to not always switch well to the lock/unlock position. Leg extension is good and easy. Had an issue with one of the t-nut screws heads stripping out but that may have been me. Overall, a good idea and basically an OK bipod, could be great with a bit more and better manufacturing and QC. I expected a bit more from Magpul (just got their Ruger Amer. stock...great stuff!).

Two Mounting Gaskets ?
Bad product. This product does not come with narrow Mounting Gasket.

Cannot remove without time and tools
The mlock version is not easily removable. It is not steady at all. Very flimsy product. Height is easy to adjust.
