The most important use of a cartridge case gage is for setting up 7⁄8"-14 press type full length resizing dies. A common error in reloading is to oversize your brass. Headspace of fired cases can quickly and accurately be measured using this tool and a caliper.

Regular Style: This one piece gage will check overall length to indicate a need for trimming and datum to head length to assure correct headspace to prevent over sizing.

Adjustable Style: For belted mags. While the belt provides support for proper headspace, the life of the case will drastically shorten unless resizing is held to a minimum at the shoulder.

Superior Craftsmanship

I have used this product to make certain that all is well with my 338 Lapua cases. Since my (rather warm) reloads are designed for long range use an (very accurate) indicator is required to evaluate the changing conditions of my cases. This product is a beautiful machined tool that has met all of my expectations.

Worth every penny

I've reloaded for years but never used Wilson products. Setting up for a custom build 22-250, I wanted accurate cartridge headspace measurements and thought I'd try them although there are less expensive versions. This gage is superb tool room quality. You can use it as a go/no-go or using a depth mic measure the deviation from the reference and flip it over and you get case length. Note that they are in the "white" with no surface finish so you must keep them lubricated like precision cutting tools.

Awesome Product

I bought this to ensure the correct head space on my reloads. With it I was also able to easily determine that some factory ammo is actually out of SAAMI specs for head space which was causing partial case head separation. Also works great to check the length of your brass for trimming. A+++

Great tool for quick checks

I use mine (I own several calibers ) to check for case stretch after FL sizing. Easily shows if trimming is needed.

absoutely essential for checking loaded

The perfect tool for checking your reloads to be sure they won't cause a jam. I fought for years with reloading my AR15 until I purchased this Wilson gauge. I drop every reloaded round into this gauge to be sure it is not oversize. There is just to much inconsistency in brass, so now I can rely on my reloads to feed and fire just like factory stuff.
