Cold blue that looks like hot
I recently used the Oxpho-Blue Creme on a much used shotgun that someone had once painted. After removing the paint, it was obvious that the original finish was forever gone. I cleaned the gun well, applied the Oxpho-Blue creme, and let it sit before carding with steel wool. The owner was thrilled with the results.
Best Cold Blue
Best cold blueing I have ever used.
Nice Deep Blue
Nice deep black blue if you follow the instruction. I also use Dicropan blue. Seems sometimes metals are different and different blues take better to different metals. So if you don't get the results you want try something different, it's not the blue's fault. I like the creme because it stays where I put it. I mostly use cold blue for repairing scratches and screw heads.
Great Stuff
A friend gave me a J.C. Higgins 16ga bolt action shotgun that was in pretty sad shape. The barrel was really rusted, but I got all the rust off. I really like the Oxpho - Blue liquid but I thought I'd try the creme. Does this stuff work fantastic. I put on numerous coats until I got the deep color that I wanted and still have about 7/8th of the bottle left. This is GREAT STUFF! I highly recommend using it
works well
I bought this because I needed to file down the front sight on my 1873 SAA colt replica handguns. I filed the sights down with progressively finer files, and then began to work with 200 and then 400 grit sandpaper. The 400 grit left a very smooth and shiny surface ready for bluing. I did clean that surface with 725 degreaser before applying the Oxpho-Blue with a Q-tip. It is difficult to tell whether these sights are factory original or not.
Easy to use gel.
Used on gun parts. Quick & easy to use. Got good color after 2 coats. Best I have ever used.
Brownells Oxpho-Blue Creme Gun Blue
I heated the area a little bit, dabed a little bluing on heated areas and blended with fine steel wool and water. Repeated till looked good and wiped with dampened cloth wipe some of the acid off
A must have for gun maintenance
I use for touch up of scratched screw heads and wear spots on my revolver cylinders. It seems to have and indefinite shelf life.
Best Product for the job
With proper prep this product will produce excellent results. As with anything, degreasing and preparing the metal is important to the final results. With Oxpho Blue Creme you will be able to closely duplicate the factory finish. One bottle will do several complete long guns and numerous handguns.

Used this to finish a traditions deerhunter 50 cal kit rifle. I am really pleased with the ease of application and the final results. Wife says its too pretty to shoot. Thank you for this product.
