A.R.M.S.® 17S BIPODS

A.R.M.S.® 17S BIPODS Reviews & Ratings

The Magpul Bipod for A.R.M.S.® 17S Style mounts offers serious strength and versatility at a price that provides unmatched value. Magpul’s lightweight Mil-Spec hard anodized 6061 T-6 aluminum and injection-molded polymer bipod brings innovation in ergonomics, functionality, strength and value together. Its low-profile design conceals its internal mechanisms and hardware, smoothly brushing off snags and bumps. Optimized for rapid one-handed adjustments, the bipod quickly and quietly transitions between user configurations.

In the shooting position, it is easily loaded with stabilizing forward tension without fear of failure or warping. Its aluminum and stainless steel components, along with its injection-molded reinforced polymer, ensure years of dependable performance and reliability, all while shaving weight. It's extremely light weight, at just over 11 oz.

Leg extensions slide and lock securely with the push of a button on any of the seven half-inch spaced locking detents. The legs extend 3.5 inches, from 6.8” to 10.3”. An industry-exclusive 50° of total tilt and 40° of total pan are controlled by a glove-friendly knurled tool-less bipod locking knob located between the extended legs. It also has the exclusive ability to lock pan at 0° while maintaining full tilt functionality. Folded, the streamlined housing and legs fit neatly under the barrel and are just under 2.3” deep and 3.3” wide. Anodized surfaces and tight, precision tolerances mitigate squeaks and rattles.

A soft rubber bipod locking knob cap is attached to the locking knob gives users a steady, non-marring forward rest while the bipod is folded. Additionally, its staggered soft rubber feet hold fast on a variety of shooting surfaces and are easily removed with a roll pin punch. Should users choose to change feet, the Magpul Bipod’s legs accept most Atlas pattern bipod replaceable feet, except for the Atlas 5-H style.

Can't loose with Magpul
What you see is what you get, multi adjustable. High Quality, pricey but worth it.

Standard Magpul product - it works great
So the negative reviews here and elsewhere are quite off or the products were unusually defective. I wouldnt normally leave a review on a Magpul product as they speak for themselves but the Negative reviews here and elsewhere ALMOST steered me away from this product, glad I ignored them. My benchmark bipod of measure to compare this to is the Harris SBRM from 22 years of military M4/SR25 experience. That is my relative measure for this review. Magpul products are cost effective, look good, are high quality and simple. This bipod is NO exception. This bipod is on par with the Harris as far as price BUT integrates with M-Lok or 1913 rails seamlessly without adapters (which makes it cheaper) is lighter, more attractive, and swivels AND pans without hesitation. The tighten knob works as designed and the detent for retracting the legs or extending them works without issue. This bipod is attractive and looks at home on the modern day sporting/duty rifle whereas the Harris looks like a M14 extension. There are also modern trendy bipods that ring in at 2.5 times the price of this model but offer no additional capability; some of them even less (no pan). Also, contrary to one negative review I saw, this bipod WILL take a load from a 200lb person without the claimed flex of over 2 inches from one reviewer. His was either a clone, defective, or he is humongous. Dont even know how you measure 2 unless you have a measuring square sitting in front of the muzzle. Another negative YouTube video showed a guy drop his rifle from chest high height with legs at full extension and the legs didnt break. He did it again, and one did. This was his example of how poor the quality is. I counter that even when broken, the bipod will still hold the rifle up and most people wont be chest high slamming their $2k rifle. Overall, this bipod is priced competitively, performs and looks well, weighs very little and does what Magpul products are supposed to do: work.

Better than a Harris for the price.
I have had a Harris for years and its good and I like it, but the Magpul gives me the same advantages as an Atlus without the weight and cost. Im glad I got the picatinny rail version because not everything I have is M-lock. My only criticism is you really have to crank down on the friction knob to keep it from moving but I dont have to worry about the legs folding on me. Not sure one weight vs a Harris though. You wont be disappointed with this.

Decent
The aluminum and polymer construction is Lightweight. The swivel and rock feature is nice. The adjustment knob is nicely made, and knurling good. The MLok attachment is made by Midwest Industries and is solid. Fully extended it has a slight wobble but nothing major, and stayed on target at 100y with rapid fire.

High quality but could be better
So far it has held up good to being used on a bench, but it feels loose when firing. Very little wobble out of it but it would be preferable if there was none. Still a good bipod for the price.

Magpul sling stud bipod
Great bipod Legs lock into place Enough movement in the legs to get a nice preload It's quiet during the shot unlike Harris which makes a nasty vibrating sound Doesn't have pan but I don't like the pan option cause its not good for accuracy or preload

M Lock = Pic =
I purchased the M Lock version for one build, loved it! Enough that I purchased a second for another build. They both look great and dont add on too much weight to the front of your rifle. The pic version doesnt seem as sturdy as it tends to come loose easier than the M Lock version.

Pretty nice
This bipod appears to be very well built. I put this on a 16 ar that is set up as a poor mans saw. its a good design with a lot of features. The pan and tilt are easily tightened up. I just wish it had a little less front to back play. But once you load it, it stays pretty good.

Lightweight and simple to use
I use this for Target shooting . I like the simplicity and all functions work smoothly. I wish the big knob was easier to use. Overall, a good and simple unit.

Decent for price
If you need a tripod and dont want it to cost much and dont mind some wobble
