Brown isn't what it used to be
I had to do a complete rebuild on a 1911 and what better parts to use than Ed Brown? Or so I thought. Unfortunately, the plunger spring is so weak that my slide would not stay back at least half the time. I had to remove the brand new Ed Brown and replace it with the factory original (an off-the-rack manufacturer, not even a semi-custom like EB) just to make the gun work again. The factory original part has tens of thousands of rounds, and it works better than the brand new Ed Brown. Go with a different semi-custom maker if you want actual quality.
