This is Not a hollow handle.
Received this product on time. All screwdriver bits fit my K frame fine. The handle is functional. However, the handle is not hollow, contrary to the online description. It is a short, law enforcement handle, but you cannot store the 3 bits included inside the handle. That will cost you more money. Somewhat deceptive, Brownell's, but not worth arguing about. Maybe I misunderstood the description.
S&W screwdriver handle and bits.
The handle was too tight for me to get some of the bits out with out using a pliers to remove them.
The 120-1 bit twisted into an "S" shape when I tried to use it to remove a S&W side plate screw. Who
knew that S&W would use red thread locker on a side plate screw. I felt it was easier to buy replacements than to try and return them So I reordered the parts and they seem fine. I now know to be more cautious.
Would you recommend this?
Yes, I would recommend to a friend
weak drivers, and you need pliers to remove them
the blades bent inside the screw, so not very helpful. Also, to remove the bit from the handle is difficult. I had to use pliers.
High quality but NOT Smith & Wesson
Well-built of quality materials but does NOT fit Smith & Wesson screws properly. These blades are aggressively hollow ground which makes them far too loose in any Smith & Wesson screw. They can easily jump out of the screw, possibly causing damage to the screw head or worse, scratches on the firearm.
Use at your own risk
This set is advertised for use on S&W revolvers. They are the correct sizes, but they are NOT hollow ground as they should be. I have disassembled several S&W revolvers with a Chinese made Winchester labeled set of drivers with no damage. This set from Brownell's damaged the screws on a Model 10 the first time I used them. DO NOT under any circumstances use these on your expensive Model 27"s, etc. Chuck
