precision tool!
wonderful construction, great 'feel'. A little time consuming but the results are well worth it.
Amazing feel and consistency
The extra time to hand load each primer is negligible. The device is buttery smooth and I look forward to each press. Im finding primer seating depths consistent between .002-.003 below flush. The build quality is excellent and you can feel the extra weight and attention to detail. I regret waiting to buy this after purchasing multiple other priming tools over the years.
Last primer tool you will purchase!
I reload for one caliber/three rifles and maybe 150 rounds at a time. For me, its not the quantity of rounds loaded but the quality of the round. This tool is built like a tank and made in the USA! The feel, fit and finish is second to none. It IS expensive but it IS the best on the market. Coupled with Brownells/Sinclairs top tier customer service this tool will be a trusted component for a lifetime of reloading. For this I am certain.
Very good priming tool I've never seen!
This is an excellent one that can set a primer with high accuracy. The only downside is that it doesn't come with a hex Allen wrench for shell holder head.
sinclair hand priming tool
just started handloading and it was recommended. loaded 150 rounds so far and this tool lets you feel the primer being seated. perfect depth every time. mia nm and savage 10 thanks for awesome tool. snm
Well Crafted Tool
I primed my first 100 rifle cases last night with the tool. The set up was kind of futzy and almost caused me to lower my rating to a 4, but the tool worked so well I really thought it deserved a 5. After the first 20 or 30 rounds, putting the case in and tightening the collar was getting pretty automatic. It only takes about an eight to a quarter turn to loosen the shell holder enough to easily remove the case and slide a new one in. The feel was excellent, smooth with a reasonable amount of pressure applied to the handle and I could easily detect when the primer bottomed out. Compared to the press mounted auto primer where about a third of the primers either jumped out of the cup or turned sideways in the cup this was a delight to use. The cup is made to close tolerances, so you can't get a primer in at an angle, it stops/sticks before it will go in. I partially raised the ram and the primer would line up and slip right in.
POWER YET DELICATE
Wow, now I see why people say this is the best priming tool ever! It has amazing power and I was skeptical since I own other hand priming tools. Yet, even with the power, you can feel the seat all the way to the very end. So the process is: You place a primer in the seating cup which is the top of the punch (no trays or tubes feeding primers) then slide a case into the shell holder, turn the knurled shell holder which locks it in place, then squeeze the handle which very smoothly and powerfully moves the ram punch to its end, which is set via lock screw. The punchs final position and depth relative to the brass is set-able. The punch is wide and very finely machined so every seated primer looks like a factory seat. So this is a little slower than other hand tools, but its a solid, finely machined, really quality hand tool that should last for darn near ever ! I had trouble with certain primer- brass combinations .... there were some brand pairings that were problematic and very tight and this tool took care of that. Yes, Im very glad I bought it. I highly recommend it. The power and the accuracy are amazing.
Sinclair's Priming Tool
I purchased my Sinclair priming tool many years ago, the quality and function have always been outstanding. I recently have purchased a second shellholder head to save a little setup time for other cartridges that I reload. As with all other Sinclair products that I have purchased, I have complete confidence that this product will be outstanding as well.
Best Priming tool...ever!
In my 33 years of reloading this is, hands down, the best reloading tool I have ever used and believe me, I've used a lot. Grant it, its not fast, but you feel when every primer is fully seated. I reload a number of different calibers (probably too many) and have shellholders for all of them. Sinclair's professional staff even figured out shellholder to use on a obsolete caliber (.41 Colt). This is a first class tool.
Outstanding tool
I have been using a much modified XXX priming tool for last 10 years and was looking for something more precise so I bought this one. When you plan and pocket ream as I do you want this tool cos you can adjust it perfectly for that brass type. I just love the feeling of this tool. Just one thing read the instructions and adjust it to your like. Well done Sinclair. THANKS.
