MAGNETIC SOFT JAWS

MAGNETIC SOFT JAWS Reviews & Ratings

Soft, yet extremely rigid, polyurethane vise jaws fit comfortably in a 4' or 5' vise and are held in place by embedded magnets. Non-slip surface grips precious firearms firmly without crushing, marring, or scratching. Top “lip” fits the top of your vise jaws adding two inches to allow extra protection and more work area. Surface resists oils and wipes clean. Each set comes with a separate polyurethane cover for vise screws or anvils so you can be absolutely sure that no part of your guns or tools will come in contact with the vise. Channeled soft jaws have all the same features as the Standard version with the addition of machined vertical and horizontal channels with 5⁄8' radius for an improved grip on contoured parts such as barrels and actions. SPECS: Molded polyurethane, red. 5” (12.7cm) wide, 2-1?8' (5.5cm) high, 5?8' (1.6cm) thick.

Just buy it already!
Quite possibly the best money I've ever spent! I ordered this to assist in installing muzzle devices, to hold the barrel in place while torquing down rather than putting the force on the barrel extension, receiver or barrel extension locating pin. There are far more uses for this than I expected! Awesome accessory for any 4-5" vice!

Great Product
These soft jaws are on my vice all the time. The magnets hold them securely in place and they don't mar the finish on a stock or metal. Great product.

Great Product!
This product is amazing! The half round cutouts provide enough pressure that this can be used for mild to medium rebarreling. It has a secure grip and is built to last.

Excellent false jaws
I purchased both the channeled and flat jaws and couldn't be happier! I use them every day, channeled more than flat, and have a set on my vise 95% of the time. I switch to smooth flat steel or wood for applying greater force or for precision holding of small parts. Other than that, I use these exclusively. The magnets hold great, not letting the jaws fall off constantly. Make sure to keep them clean when filing, etc as the magnets will attract filings on the holding surfaces. Channeled jaws are great for barrels, round actions, etc. and flat jaws are great for stocks, slab-sided receivers, slides, etc. Overall, Very satisfied. Has saved time and money not screwing up finishes or having to fuss with less friendly false jaws. Even replaced my "gun vise" for sight/scope mounting.

Best out there.
These are solid enough that I leave them in the vice 90% of the time. The channel is perfect for holding a barrel and they do not mar the finish. The only time I remove them is to use aluminum jaws for major pressure (over 200ft/lbs) on stuff. Strong magnets, be sure to keep them clean though as metal shavings will stick to the inside.

Best Jaws I've used
These arethe best pair of vice jaws I've ever used. The padding is firm enough to grip and hold solid a wide variety of parts but soft enough not to mar even a fine oil finish on wood. The magnets hold firm so the jaws are not constantly falling off. Excellent product.

GREAT PRODUCT
These work great. I highly recommend getting the channeled set.

No marks
Works great for nonmarring holds on lower or upper receivers and stocks.

When you need this capability, they work
When you have something you can't afford to mar, nor break, and yet grip in order to perform work, these jaws might be your answer. Recommended to me by a gunsmith, he was encouraging me to learn how to do my own barrel change. I was working on an AR platform, with the relatively thin, aluminum receiver, and needed to grip it sufficiently to remove the barrel nut. And of course, replace the barrel nut for the new barrel. I applied ~ 60 ft-lb torque when all was said and done (32 ft-lb to start, and the rest, to get the next groove to line up for the gas tube). Yes, the jaws are "fiddly", and like many such things, if you can't handle that, you should likely be taking your firearm to someone else.

Good tools, need stronger magnets
Have used these to mount a couple scopes to some barreled actions and the jaws work great, however wish the magnets were stronger. Have had them fall out while trying to get the barreled action in the vise and while trying to hold the action in one hand and run the vise handle with the other its super annoying when the magnets dont hold the jaws in place and fall on the floor while your hands are full/busy. I may try to find some better magnets to replace them at some point.
