Why pay more?
This is the stock bolt but I have found no real advantages for the more expensive custom bolts. The only thing that I would like to see in these is a cross pin over the firing pin. There are a couple of things that I do for these bolts on my own guns because I shoot them so much. I usually change the extractor if I am building a competition gun. I polish the bearing surfaces on the top of bolt and firing pins some of them. None of the things I change are necessary.

Used part
Not pleased with the condition and finish of the bolt. Appears used with blemishes, rust, and residue from firing. I'll need to do some cleaning and polishing before this goes out to the customer.

very dissapointed
The bolt I received looks like it might be a remanufactured used product. When I received it it had powder residue around the extractor and rust on the unpolished bolt body top and bottom, and the extractor doesn't extend to the bolt face to catch the case rim.

Do not use in BRN-22 Receiver
This product does not work in a BRN-22 receiver. It caused considerable binding when I put it in a BRN-22TD receiver with a Timney trigger pack. It was completely inoperable. I sent the receiver back to Brownells thinking that there was an issue with the inner diameter of the receiver. When Brownells brought out their new 10/22 bolt, I decided to give it a try. Brownells sent back my receiver to me and their bolt works fantastically. Turns out that my issue was with the Ruger OEM bolt. My advice is to skip this bolt and spend the extra money for the Brownells bolt, which is of much higher quality.
