Great Product
If you follow the instructional videos Brownells offers, it should work perfectly. I rattled the can for at least 5 minutes, thoroughly cleaned and re-cleaned the parts. A few things that might help. I let the paint dry overnight before putting in oven and baking. This may help reduce the smell. Also, cut the tip of the glove on your spray finger to prevent spitting.

Great product.
This stuff lays down nice and bakes to a very nice finish.
Beautiful color
The wolf grey went on absolutely great. Had an old PSA I wanted to freshen up and it looks like a brand new gun now. Cleaned with soap and water and break clean. Baked on for 4 hrs at 200 degrees. Easy peasy.
AH2 good stuff
worked!good solid finish better than spray paint.
oven cured 200f for 3 hrs.
Magpul FDE paint better than I expected
Sprayed two coats on an Ohunt large diameter handguard. Baked at 195 for 3.5 hours in my powder coating oven. Discovered I missed a couple of spots and gave it a third coat followed by a second baking. Turned out perfect. Great product.

It is legit!
"Aluma-Hyde ll" is legit and worth it! Read & follow the instructions (all of them), follow the steps and be patient! Your success is in your prep work and the patience you have with the task. Take your take and don't rush it, enjoy the process and your project. I'm about 6 barrels/actions/stocks into using this product and I'm definitely satisfied! Watch all of the videos Brownell's has put on YouTube discussing Alina-Hyde ll, they are most helpful!
Buy it, use it, and enjoy it!

Ruger American Gen I
Easy as sliced pie. I sprayed the barrel on a Ruger American Gen I .270 that I recently weighted the stock for using quiksteel inside the forearm and buttstock. I added rubberized paint around the grip areas for better wet performance and as a final touch the Aluma Hyde. With a heat gun on low I was able to set the epoxy enough about 10 minutes after applying to put the action back in the stock. And there it will sit for several weeks while it cures. I can't believe how professional it looks. It went on so smooth that the Ruger engraving on the barrel is perfectly visible. Rather than gooping up inside the lettering, the epoxy seems like it self leveled itself. I barely used any of the paint from the can and I did about three coats. Could probably do 2 dozen barrels with this one can. Brownells sent one clean out nozzle with the can, fyi. So you'll have one applicator nozzle and one clean out nozzle. Time will tell how durable it is but it seems like it is legit. Certainly looks the part.
