VORTEX OPTICS - VIPER PST GEN II 3-15X44MMSFP ILLUMINATED RIFLE SCOPE

I am very happy with this optic, it's a great value for the money. The EBR-7C reticle is exactly what I was looking for in FFP and MRAD. The tree is fine from 5x to full power. No issue with the scope, Max power of 15x is very useable, but 14x at 1000 yards, is the sweet spot optically. Clear and easy to see impacts behind the target into a dirt hill to fine tune elevation dope. Turrets are great, parallax is easy to adjust, the zoom ring does take a little more effort than my other scope, but not bad at all. One difference with this scope is, you should set the zero stop first, before obtaining zero. If you forget and zero the scope at the range, just pay attention to the number on the inner base after you remove the top cap. Write down that number, follow the directions from the zero stop video, and loosen the zero stop screws. Next turn the base back to the number you wrote down (without clicks), then tighten the zero stop screws and youre good to go. If you dont like the factory lens caps, the Butler Creek replacements (both OBJ due the eye piece diameter) are: 25 OBJ (1.80) and 34 OBJ (2.10).

The scope is well built and the glass is quite good. It is heavier than it should be in my opinion. The reticle is a bit busy and kind of clutters the image. The knobs are pretty big, but the lettering is tiny. My old, tired eyes can't make out a thing without glasses. Pretty tough competition in this range makes it a lesser value. Leupold has offerings that are lighter, easier to see and as clear or clearer. I have a NightForce SHV that was a little more. It is about as heavy, but the reticle and glass are far superior. I have 3 Vortex PST-II scopes, but if I could rewind, I may not buy them again. They are great, but better exists for a little more.
