Great Scope
I am a Vortex fan to start. I usually purchase the higher end scope, and have a Diamondback HP 4-16 with the side parallax adjustment, but wanted a cheaper hunting rig, so went this way. Paying half the price, this scope is more than half the quality. This scope will definitely work within the 400 yard mark, where I plan to hunt. Past that, it begins to get a touch fuzzy (hardly noticable until longer ranges {800+}). Otherwise, this scope is great. I noticed the weight is less, and it's still the great one piece construction. I will be using more of these on my hunting rigs.

I hate to see that this scope received a bad review. I own three of these scopes, and two other vortex scopes as well. This is the only scope that I will put on a hunting rifle. It has a good amount of magnification, and it is light weight. I have never had a problem with one of my Diamondback scopes, however I did have a problem with a Vortex Viper that was corrected in less than a week (right before hunting season too...they rushed it for me). I have taken many of deer with this scope, and have put close to a thousand shots downrange with them between my rifles. They have held up amazingly. Vortex's warranty is second to none, so if you get a bad scope, which can happen from any manufacture, they will fix it or replace it for free. No paperwork has to be kept, if it says Vortex it gets fixed. These scopes are extremely accurate as well. I have been shooting 1/4 MOA 5 shot groups lately with reloads. Can't complain about that.

Super Scope!
Mounted on a Browning 338 Win Mag it has produce many fine groups and one fine elk at 531 yards. In rough country this scope worked perfectly after roughly 300 rounds. No downside thatI'm aware of.

Got what I paid for
I was running this scop with TSR rings, Sadlak scope mount on my Springfield M1A. The internals failed in less than 40 rounds of a sighting in session. THIS IS THE REASON I BUY 99% OF MY FIREARMS PRODUCTS FROM ***BROWNELLS*** I'm going to send it back and save my pennies to buy a Leupold Mark IV like i should have done in the first place. Sorry Vortex, I did my research prior and you looked very promissing.
