What is the BURRIS - XTB WEAVER-STYLE SOLID STEEL BASES?

These two-piece Xtreme Tactical Bases are precision machined from solid steel and engineered for maximum mounting flexibility on any rifle. The mil-spec cross slots ensure a secure mount of scope rings or any optics accessory that can be mounted to Weaver- or Picatinny-style rails. Front base is reversible to provide multiple ring positions to accommodate various scope lengths. Bases provide minimal height and weight.

Best bases available
These are the only bases I use on just about every firearm. They provide a solid mounting platform with multiple slots for eye relief adjustment without the use of a bulky rail that gets in the way of feeding. Combine these bases with a set of Burris Signature Zee rings and you have the best scope set up in the business.

Good, but must be modified
These are good bases (especially for the money) BUT ONLY if you are going to epoxy bed them on your action and replace the screws that come with them. The mating surfaces of the bases have part numbers stamped on them so the bases don't sit perfectly on the action. The screws that were provided were average quality but were far too short. 2 of the 4 screws grabbed less than 2 threads, and the other 2 grabbed less than 4 threads. Having said that, they are square and solid if you mount them properly.
