DS ARMS - SA-58 Scope Mount

These are great. Ive installed a number on our Parks and Wildlife L1A1 rifles. While they may be designed for the metric version they work fine on the Australian SLR.

This mount differs from both the UTG and ARMS mounts in that it is fastened using inserts that pinch the receiver rather than forcing the rail out against the receiver. I have personally used all 3 (UTG, ARMS & DSA) and the DSA is the only rail that maintains its rigidity. The other 2 are limited by their clamping force being applied in only one direction and showed a vertical variance of up to 15 minutes. I would trust even the crude iron sights of the FAL over either the UTG or ARMS rails. The DSA rail however, is rock solid and in my opinion, the only suitable aftermarket FAL mount available.

The product was packaged in an uninspiring plastic bag with the mount, mounting screws, mounting plates and..... thats about it. Easy enough to put on although I didnt have a bench to sit at at the time, so I took a little more time than usual Im sure. Seems rock solid cant wait to try it out.

I bought one of these for my second FAL. For my first I had bought the one made by A.R.M.S. Inc. I found that, while this is well made, I find that the one from A.R.M.S. is better for me.

I won't give it 5 stars because it doesn't fit my rifle, but construction and quality is outstanding. My rifle is a Century Arms R1-A1 which I've been told is an inch gun. I had no trouble getting the mount to go on, but, the bolt binds on the clips that hold it on. Tried every thing I could think of to get it to work, and every installation sequence, too. No success. Really wish this great mount would work, as it's very well built.
