Beats the MCarbo version, completely!
Obviously, if you have this rifle, you know the stock sights are not the greatest thing in the world. However, fitting a RDO to this rifle doesn't allow you to fold the rifle up and carry in a backpack. I love the idea of having this rifle in my pack, keeping the rifle compact, while in the pack is a must...especially with all the other items I take with me! I bought the MCarbo version because it looked like a wonderful idea...and paid the $150 for it. However, while it is a great idea, it removes the exact reason why I bought this rifle in the first place...ease of use, easy to fold up, easy to store, but most importantly (when storing) it doesn't take up a lot of real estate in my pack! The Midwest Industries mount does everything the MCarbo version does, but is 1/3 less in cost, and the rifle doesn't eat up valuable space in my backpack! The only negative I have about the MI optics mount, is that the cheek guard I have installed kind of binds up when I open and close this mount. In the end, the MI mount is the winner because I gain so much space in my pack again, and when I go to pull this rifle out now, it doesn't get stuck on other items stored in my pack anymore.
