HOLOSUN - HM3X Magnifier Black

Was really surprised with this magnifier. Glass is clear, it has decent eye relief for a magnifier. The QD mounts seems good. To move the magnifier to the side you just push it over the same as an EOTech no buttons to push like the Vortex one. Overall so far I'm very impressed with it!

The clarity and focus adjustments are very good. The one that I received has a sturdy flip to side but the problem I had was when I went to install the riser block one of the threaded inserts (strange setup) that the mount screws into backed out along with the screw. I had to use semi permanent loctite applied to the insert threads and let it sit overnight to be able to remove the mount screw. Other than the Quality control flaw it is a decent magnifier for the money and I suspect it will work well for target and informal tactical shooting. I still have a problem trusting my life on the products made where this was.

OK, here is scoop. For a lesser priced 3x magnifier this is a descent one. The clarity is pretty good, and it was easy to adjust the focus. I had no problem with mounting, however it does seem to sit a little left when mounted, and not perfectly centered behind my Holosun red dot. Not a huge deal, as I didn't even need to adjust the windage or elevation as the circle dot reticle was pretty well centered from the get go. If you have one of the Holosun red dots that have the integral flip caps, you will have to remove the rear one, otherwise you can not fully open it. Easy enough by just removing the screw holding it on. The biggest gripe is that the flip to side mount is a little flimsy when you place it in front of the red dot. There is some play when in the closed position. It never quite feels stable when down, there is a springiness to it that the likes of Eotech and Aim Point don't have. But remember it is Chicom and does not have that upper tier feel of the others mentioned, but of course they cost over 2.5 to 3 times as much. The lens covers that come with it seem very substantial, and you do get a lens cleaning cloth and torx tool. It does what it is supposed to, and for those of us that don't have the money to spend as much on a magnifier as the red dot, this fits the bill.
