My new favorite hog gun
Short version: I like it so much that I now own the black and FDE models. Long version: I have never been a huge fan of the AK platform. But this model is the exception. It looks and feels well made and trigger feel is better than I expected out of the box. With the adjustable gas regulator, it will shoot everything I tried to feed it right out of the box with a dry action; from 2 3/4 #8 loads to 3" #00 buckshot handloads. The folding stock is more gimmick to me though. With the recoil of a 12ga, I wouldn't shoot it not shouldered. And with the long barrel, the folding stock doesn't allow you to put it in a much smaller bag. The only shortcoming is the factory magazines. Their geometry and shell feeding angle makes it near impossible to load on a closed bolt. The solution is to lock the bolt back with the notched safety lever and load that way. Some can argue this a big problem, but for my purposes, I can't imagine a situation where I need to quickly reload it like an AR or pistol after 10 rounds. Any remaining hogs or other nuisance animals will be long gone by then. I am told certain aftermarket Saiga-12 magazines solve this, but I don't need them for my purposes.
