Had to do major fitting on Rem 7600
I purchased a Remington 7600, which is the pump-action 30-06 utilizing the same receiver as a 20ga Remington 870. Due to this, 20 gauge stocks would fit similar models such as Remington 7400 and 7600. I decided to purchase the Magpul SGA 870 stock and this adapter to use on my 7600. Well, the package just came in, and when I tried to push this adapter in, there were two areas that required fitting. First, was the square portion on the bottom, I had to use a metal file and inlet just a little bit on the top of the flat portion. But, the major defect is there is a little lip at the very top of this that is supposed to go over the receiver. After I fit the bottom portion, the top lip required about an hour and a half of sanding/dremel grinding attempting to rubber mallet it on and test fitting. The end result is still not as flush against the receiver as I'd like, but at least its in its place and after the lip damaged the finish on my receiver from all the attempts, it finally fits over the receiver. I'm not sure where these are made, but the thick finish and irregularity of the lip overhanging the top I think may cause fitment issues. After examining the Magpul stock, I believe I could have adapted it by itself much easier than how much I had to do to this product, and this is an added expense to complete the procedure. I purchased this to adapt it and not have to do fitting, but fitting was required anyway. Although the description does not state Remington 7600, all other stock applications would identify it is identical to the Remington 870 20ga for adaptation.
