What is the HIVIZ - Magni-Comp?

Innovative tunnel sight with highly visible red or green rod provides exceptional sight contrast in all light conditions. Front sight dot is only visible when using correct head alignment, forcing proper shooting form and increasing accuracy. Red or green fiber optic rods are easily interchanged allowing you to change sight color when light conditions change. Designed to fit ventilated ribs with removable front beads. Magni-Comp contains a compact, stainless steel base that is secured firmly to the ventilated rib using included screw, making it ideal for heavy recoil loads or ported barrels. Sight base uses a locking spring to keep the light rod secure, yet allows easy interchangability of the red or green rod in the field with provided key. Includes five different size sight screws for a variety of ribs.

SPECS: Magni-Comp - Base - 1704 stainless steel, matte black finish, 1ј” (3.1cm) long. Rods – polymer, (1) red, (1) green, 11?16" (17.8mm) long x .07” (1.8mm) dia. Includes five screw sizes: 3-56” fits Winchester, Beretta, Benelli, and Ruger® shotguns; M3 x .5” fits Browning BPS, Gold and Citori Field guns; M3 x .6” fits Browning Citori Hunter; 5-40” fits Mossberg shotguns; 6-48” fits Ithaca, Remington, and SKB field models.

So So sight
I bought three of these sights for my competition guns and they helped a lot with my cross dominance issue, UNTIL THE LITE PIPE FALLS OUT!!! And you don't have any spares! I have used Comp Sights for Years without hassle. This sight needs a better lite pipe retention system. All 3 of them have lost the lite pipes now. Now I have to order a dozen spares @ $1 apiece plus shipping direct from the manufacturer.

Great Idea - But Poorly Designed
Installed these on my trap gun and skeet guns. Works as advertised and is not visible for the non-shooting eye. Works great on sub-gauge skeet guns with 20, 28, 410 gauges with little recoil. Heavier recoil of light trap loads knocks the light pipe loose out of it's retainer and it's gone after 1 to 3 boxes of shells. Also, the 3-56 mounting screw is recommended by HIVIZ for installing on K-80 but K-80 front bead is designed for a metric 2.5M screw. So if the supplied 3-56 happens to be on the large side of manufacturing tolerance it won't fit in the K-80 rib hole as HIVIZ suggests. You either have to re-tap the rib hole or buy 2.5M countersink machine screws - I chose to buy some screws so I could go back to the original bead as an option. Try the HIVIZ Comp sight instead as I'm hearing my friends say that losing the light pipe is not issue with that one.
