Nice wood forend
I purchased this replacement stock because my original stock had broken too many times and was beyond repair. This stock fit just fine with very little adjustments. I sanded it to smooth out the sharp edges with no problems for a perfect fit. I would recommend this stock as a replacement for any Browning A-5 that is not the new model. I prefer wood over synthetics so this was a good choice and was in stock thanks to Brownells.

Great product , great customer service
I am restoring my grandfathers 1928 Remington model 11 12 gauge shotgun. I am not a gunsmith. This forend was a drop in for me as far as fit. I did have to install the front button retainer( acts as a lock for the retaining cap). I also bought the recoil plate it is a perfect fit.

Poor Quality
This forend is very poor quality. I was in a time crunch so I did not return it. The wood is machined off center. The left side is much thicker than the right. It looks like the raw material was oversize. Then it was put in the jig for machining, all the extra material was pushed to the left. Probably the jig was loaded from the left and clamped from the left so all the extra material ended up on the left. Had to machine away extra wood so the forend would fit in the receiver. Because of the off center machining, the forend matches the receiver width on the right but hangs out wider on the left. Ugly. Had to machine the groove for the barrel so the forend does not hit the barrel.

horrible quaility
center-line of dimensions of this stock are so far off extensive modification is needed to create proper clearance for the recoil operating parts to function correctly.
