RIFLE BASIX - Winchester 70 Adjustable Trigger

I had an older Win Model 70 that was in need of a replacement trigger. This fit like stock and installed in minutes.

It took 25 minutes to install this trigger. That includes removing it from the stock and making adjustments. I installed this on a FN Patrol Bolt Rifle, .308 Win. It breaks clean and crisp and is easy to adjust. Everything you need is in the package and the instuctions are easy to follow and include photos. I now have a sweet 2 3/4 lb trigger pull. I highly recommend this trigger.

I am very happy with the trigger. Given the cost and ease of installation it is a no brainer upgrade! I installed it on a FN PBR-XP. I could not find any documentation that it would work, but given my past experiences with Brownells I figured it was a fairly low risk proposition. The trigger fit PERFECTLY. The hardest/most time consuming part was removing my scope and stock. The adjustments for weight, sear, and overtravel are easy and intuitive. My only advice is to use LocTite or similar product to ensure that the set screws stay put. If you are thinking about improving the trigger on a similar gun I suggest you pull the trigger (pun intended) and get one.

This was supposed to be a drop in replacement but it would have required some milling to be able to engage the seat. I will be returning it.

Returning as trigger sear face doesnot connect to Fire Pin Sear. Poorest quality control encountered for a replacement trigger. Adjusted per instructions, the over travel set screw is loose would need thread lock seal, the sear set screw and lock nuts would require thread lock seal. None supplied - No Instructions or sealant for set screws. Trigger sear is rough having an unfinished Un-Machined Not Polished BURR Lip. Rifle Basix part WIN-1 Nickle finish is not to spec for my satisfaction, Surely this replacement trigger did not receive the finish machining missed by quality control. Trigger Dosnot contact the FP sear. IMHO I feel this replacement trigger will not be safe to use in my rifle. WINCHESTER Model 70, Classic Stainless, Control Round Feed Bolt with 3 position Safety.
