What is the WILLIAMS GUN SIGHT - Rifle Aluminum Dovetail Slot Blank Black?

Machined, aluminum, slot blank drops-in easily to fill the empty sight dovetail for a clean-looking barrel. 5-40 set screw locks blank in place and makes removal easy if you want to put a sight back in. Black, anodized finish blends well with most matte and gloss blue barrel finishes.


SPECS: Aluminum, black anodized. 3/8" (9.5mm) x 5/8"” (15.9mm). Fits standard, .375" (9.5mm) x 60° dovetails.

Easy no file fitment. I have used quite a few of these in the past and have never had an issue. I have used this on several hard recoiling rifles and they haven't shot loose.

Works Good, Looks Good.
I just installed this on an octagon-barrelled rifle and it looks good to me. I'm sure a hand fitted slot blank would be prettier but I haven't got the skills or tools for that. It's not as glossy as the barrel bluing but it's not dull, more a semigloss. Super easy to install this slot blank. It slides in with just thumb pressure and locks down with screw using the included hex wrench. The price seems a little high for such a simple item but next time I need a slot blank I'll be back for another of these.

It works, but it's not pretty
I ordered one of these for a rifle and installed it. It just slid in, and I tighted the set screw, and it was finished. So installation is extremely simple, but it doesn't look great. There is no gloss at all, and it looks too big and out of place on a nice rifle. So I ordered 2 of the Marbles blanks for 2 rifles, and fitting them with a triangular file and tapping them in with a brass punch took more effort, but it was worth it, they look really nice. So if you just want something that does the job, this aluminum one will do, but if you want a really nice looking one, get one of the steel ones.
