What is the WILLIAMS GUN SIGHT - Rifle Adj Foolproof FP-GR-TK Grooved Receiver Black?

Internal micrometer adjustments lock positively to prevent accidental movement of sight setting. No obstructions to impair and blot out shooter’s field of vision. Weighs only 1½ oz. Standard hole spacing to fit rifles factory drilled and tapped for receiver sight.


SPECS: FP-GR-TK: 25/32" (5.5cm) wide. 15/8" body. Blued steel "Target Knobs" adjust windage and elevation. Blued steel aperture. .093" (2.4mm) opening.

Not for Ruger American 22
I do all the gunsmithing for the county 4H rifle team. I tried this sight as the one we normally use has been on back-order for 6 months. Upon trying to install it on a Ruger American 22 I discovered first, that the radius on the top of the receiver interferes with the underside of the sight and secondly that due to the fact that dovetails on the Ruger receiver are short and limit the mounting location that if you modify either the receiver or the sight once mounted the bolt handle hits the sight and prevents the action from opening. If you can find one go with 962-201-001WB and use the base adapter for the Winchester Model 75. I am sure it would be a great option for another rifle.
