Good Front Sight Base
Mounted on a .750" diameter barrel for an A2 build. I milled the bayonet lug off and removed the sling loop and ears. I drilled a hole in place of the bayonet lug. Then I tapped it, and the hole used for drilling the gas port, to 8-32 for a pair of set screws. A second dimple was needed in the barrel for the front set screw. Beings it is an F marked sight and it is being used in conjunction with a carry handle upper receiver, I milled .040" off the top of the front sight post. Overall its a nice piece of metal and does the job its is supposed to do. It is finished well and is symmetrical when viewed from the rear.
