What is the KNS PRECISION, INC. - Crosshairs Standard Hooded Front Sight Brass Black?

CNC machined sight post has integral crosshairs to provide quick, consistent sight alignment for improved accuracy at any range. Large diameter aperture offers a wide field of view that does not obscure target; gives a sight picture that's like looking through a scope. Compatible with factory rear sights and variable-diopter target sights. Non-hooded AR-15 sight is .082" thick. Hooded sight has .250" hood that shields crosshair from reflected light, offers greater crosshair protection for extreme duty use. STD, thin wire crosshair. AR-15 available as Hooded or non-hooded, fits M-16 and AR-10 rifles with standard sight housings. L1A1, FN-FAL and 3/8" sights are Hooded. 3/8" Dovetail fits common hunting rifles plus, provides a quick, on-target sight for the 10/22. M1 Garand and M1A require modification of front sight, removal of sight blade.


SPECS: Brass, black, matte finish. Beryllium crosshairs, heat treated. STD - .010" (.25mm) wire, .240" (6.1mm) diameter aperture. HK 91 fits 91, 93, 94 MP-5, SP-89. 3/8" Dovetail height measured from top of base to center of sight.

30 of 30 in the bullseye after innstal
I painted (Duracoat) and did some rehab work on my 1984 Colt AR-15 A-2 Sporter II. Even though I had painted the front sight post red years ago which helped the idea of having cross hairs sounded great. When the Colt was ready for it prime time, I put a bipod on and shpt 30 rounds at a B-27 target at 75 yards and to my shock all 30 shots were in a 3 inch group clustered around the bulls-eye. It was luck to get the post in to the correct height bit the cross hairs really help. I am getting ready to buy another for my son's AR.

makes shooting irons easy
Centering the round sights on the target and then placing the cross hairs gives much more accuracy vs standard sights. Height adjustments must be made in half turns and may limit your poi. Seems like solid construction and if it were to break I would replace it with another.

Not Dependable
This sight lasted about 2 hours on a .22 upper and the vertical pin fell out. Perhaps it was just a quality control issue on this one sight. I decided I won't need another one.
