Talley Magnum crossbolts
Gun: Winchester mo 70 in 375 H&H magnum. Walnut stock. This will make my 3rd project; ALL using cross bolts. This is the first time I will have used this particular cross bolt(s), and of course there will be some necessary fitting and epoxy bedding required to provide both lateral and linear support, and finished off with caps flush with the surface of the stock, hiding the bolts themselves forevermore. Like before, and before I epoxy the bolts in, I'll shorten the threaded shank slightly as needed so that the inletted cross bolt caps will be below the surface enough to allow for the fitting (or filling) caps (providing a aesthetically pleasing appearance when the stock receives the final finish coat). In the end, the barreled action be pillar bedded with epoxy flooding the recoil lug well. And, the epoxy will support the receiver ring and the first 2-3 inches forward of the recoil lug well - supporting the barrel. The remainder of the barrel will be free floated with ~ 3mm clearance around the barrel for the rest of the entire forearm length. I hope this project also results in "clover leaf" groups at 100 yards, and 5-shot groups at 200 yards under 1.5" (center to center) at 200 yards. (Gotta LOVE the 375 H&H!!)

Dandy
Several comments regarding lack of a wrench available. This does not use the Mauser wrench. However stop by the auto parts store with a cross bolt and you will find a pair of snap ring pliers work quite well.

great to use
Very good product. I have fitted these in cliets stocks. Works just as well as the K98 cross bolts. Its just a shame they don't do them in stainless steel aswell. If you havent got the right tool to fit them, then "C" clip pliers work well.

Just what I needed!
I purchased this product to repace a missing rear crossbolt on a Russian SKS rifle. It's a perfect fit, though I might need to thin the head a little. As for the proper tool to use, I was able to a the cheap SKS crossbolt tool. They're typically sold by a number of folks, but not Brownells.

Great Value
I was pleased with the quality and low cost. You will need a 1/4" drill, a 7/16" counterbore with 1/4" pilot to machine the stock. Strongly recommend doing this work in a milling machine. Did not see a spanner wrench to fit this crossbolt, so I made a simple T-handle spanner out of 7/16" round stock. Drilled the spanner pins at 9/32" (.2812) and made the pins out of .075 pin stock.
