Designed by Bill Wilson and the Wilson Combat design team to be the base for the ultimate precision tactical AR-15 rifle, the BILLet-AR lower receiver is 100% machined in our Berryville, AR facility. The Wilson Combat BILLet-AR receiver was engineered from the ground up to address structural design weaknesses in standard USGI lower receivers and enhance overall tolerances. The BILLet-AR lower receiver has been enhanced with an oversize magazine well for quick reloads and an integral trigger guard for gloved use and added lower receiver strength. Typical Wilson craftsmanship
Clean finish and a few niceties added, such as a threaded pin for the bolt release instead of a smooth pin, rear takedown pin spring inserts above the grip instead of behind the buffer plate and a rubber insert behind the safety to eliminate the normally loose fit between the upper and lower.

Solid investment
I thought it was going to be gray from the picture and description; however, I am very pleased with the Jet Black and the piece looks high end and beautiful. Makes a tight fit with the Aero Upper. FDE upper, butt stock, and grip; black everything else looks awesome. 16" CMMG 5.7x28 build with 15" ATLAS S-ONE rail and NIGHTHAWK FLASH HIDER. Thank you Brownells for being an indispensable and much appreciated part of my build interests.

Nice Lower!
This is a very nice lower receiver with some pretty neat features. It comes with a threaded bolt catch (threaded screw included) and a rubber insert for tensioning your rear take down pin. It is unusual in that the detent that holds the rear take down pin is not inserted from the rear behind the retaining plate, but instead it inserts from the bottom/side like the detent used or your safety and is also held in place by your pistol grip. My only complaint (thus the 4 stars instead of 5) is that it had a few very small but visible (even under the finish) machining marks on the outside of the magazine well. Not enough to send back, since it will be on a working rifle and will get dings and scratches anyway, but it would have been nice to have one that was pristine, even if only for a little while.

Blemish
The anodized finish looks rough on the out side, like they did not try to smooth out the out side before putting on the Finnish. The anodizing did not get into all the corners on the inside of the lower. In the trigger area and the extra pocket they have for the spacer it had a weird fuzziness. Once I clean it up it was just bare aluminum under it. It's not going to hurt the function or anything of the lower and it is in a unseen spot. I had got the lower with the thought of SBR it. And will probably get a cerakote put on it if I do that.

Disappointed
I am an AR-15 armorer and I have serviced and built hundreds of rifles. This is the first lower I have ever worked with that required modification out of the box. The hole for the safety detent was too narrow and I had to drill it out for the safety to engage. This is something I may expect from a no name brand lower for $30 but I was under the impression Wilson Combat made quality and for this price I expected it. Other than that the lower seemed to be made well and went together like normal.
