Installing the Sinclair Bolt Stop
When installing the bolt stop it is easiest to chuck the receiver in a drill press or mill. Start the installation hole with a center drill and go progressively up to the Letter I tap drill. Then use a taper tap to start the threads and then for the final tapping use a plug tap. 5/16x24 taps are easy to order. Very easy to do if you do not get in a hurry and use plenty of threading oil. The picture of the bolt stop installed in Rem 700 action in a Boyds stock cannot be copied. There fore a test of the Vortex Golden Eagle Scope on the rifle at 1,000 yards is shown. Parts are from Brownells. Windage adjustment was better than could be measured. Elevation was not compensated for.

Good product
Easy to install if you know how to drill & tap. Definite improvement over the stock setup, especially on Remington 600's and XP-100's. Allows easy removal of a cartridge too long to eject out of the ejection port. (C'mon, think about this on a short-action single-shot XP-100, with a long throat)! Installed it on my latest build, an XP-100 in .270 WSM. Works Great!

good idea, poor execution
Comes with absolutely no instructions or guidance on how to properly install it. For the record, you need a 5/16-24 plug tap. I recommend a short 3-flute tap since they are easier to start.
